The Bridge Over Troubled Waters recognizes Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month
PASADENA, TX – April is Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month (SAAPM), a time for our country to honor survivors and celebrate the strength of our movement to end sexual violence. The first Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month was held 20 years ago, in 2001, by the National Sexual Violence Resource Center.
According to RAINN.org, “Every 73 seconds, an American is sexually assaulted. And every 9 minutes, that victim is a child. Meanwhile, only 5 out of every 1,000 perpetrators will end up in prison.”
The Bridge will be hosting several events in April. The public is encouraged to join us and help us recognize and honor survivors.
