Honoring the Tragic Death of Maira Gutierrez, The Press Conference scheduled for October 6, 2022 is CANCELED

As many of you have already heard, the Pasadena community was devastated to learn about the tragic death of Maira Gutierrez earlier this week. The Bridge Over Troubled Waters, along with our partner agencies, have made the decision to cancel tomorrow’s press conference that was scheduled to kick off domestic violence awareness month. As a collective, it is our desire to be intentional in everything we do, so while we remain steadfast in our commitment to raising awareness of domestic violence and the impact it on our communities, we would like to respect the family in mourning, honor with dignity the life of Maira Gutierrez, and ensure we focus our efforts and resources on seeking justice and supporting the family through this difficult and emotional time.

The Bridge will continue to have many opportunities for community engagement and education during the month of October, but for this week, we ask that all our friends, supporters, and partners join us in holding space for the family and for remembering Maira.
