This week we are focusing on self-kindness. Psychologist Kristen Neff developed an awesome definition:
“Being warm and understanding towards ourselves when we suffer, fail or feel inadequate, rather than ignoring our pain or flagellating ourselves with self-criticism”. While it is very important to acknowledge that personal inadequacies, doubts, and suffering are a part of the shared human experience, we also want to be mindful that they do not define our humanity. Self-kindness is so important on this journey of self-love because it helps heal, connect, and transform us. Below are a few ideas from @Miss_Mental on how self-kindness can look in your life. As always, you are encouraged to find ways that work best for you. Joseph Campbell said, “The privilege of a lifetime is being who you are.”
