In 2019, we launched A Bridge for Kids Campaign to meet the growing need for additional space for our growing youth and children population.  We’ve begun the building process and our new center will begin serving children in March of 2022!  Our campaign focus, the Children and Youth Center, will allow us to double the number of children and youth we serve and deepen the impact we can make in the Greater Houston area and beyond. The facility will be equipped to provide services for children from birth to 18 years of age.

As a result of the recent freeze, the last few weeks have been filled with sleepless nights and thoughts for reconstruction at the Bridge for Troubled Waters. Not only have we sustained significant damage to our current childcare facilities, but we are also nearing a very important deadline for our capital campaign.

We’ve raised $4 million in donations and pledges out of our $6.8 million dollars needed for The Bridge For Kids. By April 1st, we must reach our next milestone (an additional $250,000) so that we are eligible for a $500,000 match by the Mabee Foundation.

This deadline is more urgent now than ever, as we need to expedite our work to build the new facilities to fill the gap of services including our childcare center and child services due to the damage from Winter Storm Uri.

We have two crucial needs as we approach our last update meeting with the Mabee Foundation in Mid-March:

  1. Please consider sharing this donation link to your network:  The Bridge Over Troubled Waters www.tbotw.org or pledge by emailing rkyles@tbotw.org.
  2. Please consider giving a pledge of up to three years to help us finish this campaign.

Again, we must reach $250,000 by April 1st, and must make progress even sooner to update the Mabee Foundation in Mid-March.
